The Section is the largest network for phycology (algology) and algae research in the German-speaking world. As a nonprofit group under the umbrella of the German Botanical Society (DBG), it supports researchers and aims to inspire people outside the field to take an interest in the fascinating world of algae. The Section fosters the development of early-career researchers, brings together researchers of all generations, and promotes collaboration among its members.

The University of Rostock, represented by Klaus Herburger, Bernard Lepetit, and Ulf Karsten, cordially invites you to the 22nd scientific conference of the Phycology Section of the German Botanical Society (DBG). The conference will take place from March 14 to 17, 2027. As in previous years, we plan to begin on March 14 with afternoon coffee (around 3:00 p.m.), followed by the opening ceremony and one or two scientific sessions. The conference ends on March 16 with a conference dinner, etc., so you can leave Rostock on the morning of March 17. 

The event will take place at the TRIHOTEL Rostock, Tessiner Straße 103, where we have reserved a lecture hall, poster rooms, catering, etc., as well as 50 double rooms at special rates. The hotel is easily accessible by public transportation or by car. 

We would especially like to provide financial support to master’s and doctoral students.
